• History of Exploration: Did you know the explorer who discovered New York Harbor, Giovanni da Verrazzano, was born nearby? You can admire his monument right in the main piazza.
• Montefioralle: Just above Greve, we can visit this tiny fortified hamlet, once home to the family of Amerigo Vespucci. It is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

After soaking up the rustic charm of Chianti, we drive south to Siena. As you enter this UNESCO World Heritage city, the modern world fades away, replaced by narrow winding streets and warm, sienna-colored brickwork.

• Ancient Origins: Legend says Siena was founded by Senius, son of Remus (brother of Romulus). You will see the She-Wolf emblem throughout the city, a testament to its ancient Roman roots.
• Piazza del Campo: This shell-shaped square is world-famous for the Palio, an intense bareback horse race held every July 2nd and August 16th. It is not just an event; it is the beating heart of Sienese identity.
• The Gothic Duomo: Built between 1136 and 1382, Siena’s Cathedral is one of the few examples of pure Gothic architecture south of the Alps. Its intricate marble floors and soaring facade are truly breathtaking.
• Torre del Mangia: Look up at the needle-like tower that dominates the skyline, offering a “taut” and elegant contrast to the sweet slopes of the Tuscan hills.
