This day you will be driving towards the old Chianti Classico area. This for long time was the border between Florence and Siena, so it is rich of castles. Now most of them have been converted into well known winery so you can combine fine wine and splendid medieval setting.
Along this tour you will ride through the beautiful hills of Chianti area. You will have the chance to visit old cellars, and taste delicious food and Docg as well as Igt "supertuscan" wines.
Supertuscan is not a winezone like Chianti or Montalcino but is more a new style of wine that some wineries started to produce here in Tuscany at the end of "60s. This wine is made of international grape varieties. The typical blend is made of Cabernet and Merlot but there are some types that inculde others French varieties such as Syrah or Petit Verdot.
